INA2290: Resistor in line with VBUS

Part Number: INA2290
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: INA229

Can we add a resistor (1K) between the V source and the Vbus input of the INA229.  The input impedance is 1M, and 1K would be 0.1% of the input impedance.  Will this significantly impact the performance negatively?

  • Hello John,

You just mentioned the divider created.  Keep in mind the input resistance can vary from 0.8MΩ to 1.2MΩ.  So you need to add the error created by this.  Do you need to have a 1KΩ resistor.  You could place a smaller resistance if the error is to larger if you don't have other limitations.
