LF398-N: Leaving offset pin floating and adding a MUX stage

Part Number: LF398-N

Hello i have few questions regarding LF398AN/NOPB ,

1) If I am not planning to use the offset trimming feature can I leave it floating or should it be tied somewhere?

2) I am planning to use an analog multiplexer before the LF398AN/NOPB in order to multiplex 2 analog input signals. Is it ok to directly cascade the multiplexer to the IC or does it require a voltage follower (Buffer) stage between them?

Thank you very much in advance.

  • Hi Amr,

Just let the offset pin float.

The LF398AN input impedance is on the order of 10 Gigaohms so it should not be necessary to use a buffer between the multiplexer output and S/H input.
