Hello, TI Support Team.

I have two questions.

My Power supply is 5V and I want to Monitor a power of CPU.

Power Supply ------ FET(Ideal diode controller) ------ Power Monitor -------- CPU

(5V) (5V)

First of all, Can I connect the Vs and VBUS?

Second, If i only moniter the CPU voltage, Can I remove the shunt resistor and peripheral element?

Letting inputs float is never a good idea. I would connect IN+ and IN- directly to VBUS.

Please note, that in your first picture you have connected IN+ and IN- in a wrong way to the shunt. IN+ and IN- should be connected to C45 and not directly to the shunt, provided you want to use an input filter at all. See figure 13 of datasheet.

Oops, I removed IN+ and IN- connect to C45(=C42). This is my fault.

Hey Dahun,

I would like to confirm Kai's answers. Your schematic looks good to me as a way to measure power for 5V CPU rail.
