TL082H: Supply voltage specification

Part Number: TL082H
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TL082,

Hi team,

Could you give me comment on why the supply voltage specification description is different between TL08x and TL08xH like below? It's not sure if this difference suggests different use case or not.

TL08xH

Vs: Vcc+ - Vcc- : 4.5V~40V

TL08x

Vcc+: 5~15V

Vcc-: -5~-15V

Best regards,

Takeshi Sasaki

  • The TL08x and TL08xH are different (JFET/CMOS). The TL08x specification uses split supplies for historical reasons, but it has the same meaning as 10 V – 30 V.

  • Hi Takeshi,

please keep in mind that the legacy "TL082" and the next-generation "TL082H" are completely different chips.

It has been discussed here a lot in the past whether it was a good decision to put the "TL082H" into the same datasheet as the "TL082" becasue of the confusion that may arise from the many differencies of specifications.

And I personally would never consider the "TL082H" as "next-generation" OPAmp for the "TL082", because the noise of "TL082H" is much worse compared to the "TL082". Referring to noise there's no improvement at all. But that's only my personal point-of-view Relaxed
