THS4561: Pin 7 Floating

Part Number: THS4561

Hi,

I want to use this one as replacement for LTC6363. Pin 7 PD is floating on our board. Is it ok to leave pin 7 PD floating on THS4561 (no pull up resistor according to specs)?

Thank you

  • No; when the /PD pin is floating, correct operation is not guaranteed.

  • Hello Alexander,

       In the datasheet it states:

The power down ( PD) pin must be asserted to the desired voltage for proper power-down mode operation. A physical internal pullup resistor is not provided on the PD pin so that if the pin is floated, the device defaults to an ON state.

But as Clemens mentioned, it is best to tie the PD pin on the THS4561 to the positive supply (VS+) for any active channel test to avoid noise coupling or unwanted logic changes to the pin.

    Thank you,

    Sima
