INA240: The characteristics of INA240

Part Number: INA240

Hi,

A current probe was inserted at the measurement point of INA240, and two waveforms of ①INA240 output voltage and ②current probe were acquired with an oscilloscope and compared.

As a result, ①the INA240 output voltage waveform was delayed by about 1us with respect to ②the current probe waveform. Attach an image of the waveform.

Is this a characteristic of the INA240?

Thanks

Adtro

  • Hi Astro,

what do you expect? Less or more delay?

To see what is normal have a look at figure 7-20 of datasheet. Note the time scale of 10µs/div. Also keep in mind that the specified settling time for the INA240A1 (0.5% settling) is 9.6µs.

  • Results seem reasonable for device,  faster signal is going to result in larger delay (by %). Plot posted above looks to align with step response plot in typical characteristics on data sheet as mentioned by Kai. I reached out to team expert on this device and was told behavior seen looks as expected.
