INA191: Enable voltage requirement

Part Number: INA191

Hello,

The VIH for the enable pin of INA191 is listed as 1.35V min and 5.5V max. Does EN need to be the same as VS? FOr example, could we use 1.5V as the enable voltage with 5.5V supply?

Thanks,

Michael

  • Michael,

No, EN does not need to be at the same voltage level as Vs for proper operation. Any voltage presented to the EN pin between 1.35V and 5.5V will be interpreted by the device as a logic high and the device will enable. The use case you present should work fine, just ensure that the 1.5V is relatively clean, as voltage below 1.35V cannot be guaranteed to be a logic high by the device.
