OPA320: replace part

Part Number: OPA320
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPA350, OPA2328, OPA325, OPA392, OPA356

Hi Experts,

Our customer saw the comparison between them OPA320 and OPA350 but still doesn't know enough about these parts, may we ask if you can please tell us if he can use OPA350 Instead of OPA320 in the "ADS129xR" datasheet , page 93 in pacemaker detection topology , (attached image),

We will wait for your confirmation if he can use OPA350 here instead of OPA320 or not? Thank you.

Kind regards,

Gerald

  • Yes, you could use OPA350 instead of OPA320 BUT our latest parts like OPA325, OPA392 and OPA2328 (dual) are optimized for driving ADCs.

  • Thank you for your confirmation. Just to also confirm, can you please tell me if the customer can use OPA356 for this or not? Our customer don't have access to the parts that you said.
He compared opa320/350/392 with this OPA356 and found some differences in "GBW(typ)(MHz)" and "Rail-to-rail" and he is not sure if these differences are important to their design or not?

  • OPA356 is a different type of op amp - it's a high-speed part with offset up to +/-15mV, unity-bandwidth of 450MHz and quiescent current, IQ, of 8.3mA - its linear input common-mode is 1.5V below positive rail and thus without knowing what input range customer uses I am not able to say whether it is possible to use it in this application.

However, OPA325, is the closest to OPA320 and it's available - see below.
