INA241A: The output status when VCM out of Operational voltage but in Survival voltage

Part Number: INA241A

I want use INA241A in my stored energy system. But VCM may drop from 12V to -10V immediately in safety test.

What is the output status when VCM is out of Operational voltage but in Survival voltage?

Thanks.

  • Hello valued engineer,

I am looking into this and will respond shortly.

    Sincerely,

    Peter

  • Hello again,

As Vcm goes below -5V, this will begin to gradually cease operation (reduced gain, reduced CMR, increased offset) of the first internal stage and once Vcm gets closer to -20V, Vout will just track Vref with no differential gain. This should not be a problem if you are not trying to accurately sense current during this safety test.

Overall, it is generally hard to predict where Vout will go for -5V<Vcm<-20V range.

If you have more questions, please post back.

    Sincerely,

    Peter
