TL082H: Application of input voltage range

Part Number: TL082H
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TL082

Hi Team

As the datasheet shows, input voltage range is Vcc-+2V.Can I understand that when the reverse pin(VF1) is lower than the voltage value, TL082H will work abnormally or even fail.

  • Hi Naxiao,

by "input voltage range" the voltages directly at the +input and -input of OPAmp is meant.

  • Hi kai

Thanks for your answer.  As my simulation model, when VF1 is 0V and VF2 is settled from 10 to 100mV(lower than (VCC-+2V)) , the output of  U1 is clamp to 27mV,whether it is make reason? And when I connect Vcc- to -12V, the output is consistent with the theoretical value, which V- and V+ meet datasheet requirment.

So can I think that TL082H is more suitable for power supply products powered by positive and negative voltage rails instead of single voltage rail?

  • Hi Nanxiao,

So can I think that TL082H is more suitable for power supply products powered by positive and negative voltage rails instead of single voltage rail?

Correct. The TL082H is no input-rail-to-rail OPAmp. If your input voltage goes down to VEE, then the TL082 is not suited in your circuit.
