OPA690: Better alternative for a specific use case?

Part Number: OPA690
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPA3690

Team,

Can you please to identify if we have some possible better alternatives to OPA690 for the below use case?

Voltage feedback OP-Amp for:
Freq. range 0Hz…30MHz
Input:     Differential input with V_CM~3.5V and -V_signal_pp=1,8V
Output:
single ended and capable to drive a 50R load.
Output voltage max. 2Vpp (or more)

Had first look at OPA690 (or OPA3690, just to build an instrumental amplifier with 3 OP-Amps, toconvert a diff. input signal into a single ended output).
Key parameters of the OPA690 are:
-It can be supplied by +/-6V (that is nearly 4Vpp @ 50R at the output are possible)
-Bandwidth is beyond 160MHz (that is enough for the 30MHz application)
-Current output is above 140mA (enough to drive a 50R load
-It does have an input noise density of about 5.6nV/√Hz (could be better)

Is there an even better alternative than OPA690 that match those key parameters and meet the above input/output/freq requirements?

Thanks in advance,

A.

  • Well the 690 family is a bit unique being low gain stable with high slew rate - that topology comes with higher noise, the FPBW you need could be easily met by CFA parts, but that is not what you asked,

Not much VFA with this kind of slew rate in the TI/NSM designs - there are similar ADI and LTC parts, but they will also have that higher input noise,
