INA229: daisy chain

Part Number: INA229
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: INA228

Dear team,

My query is regarding INA229 of the Amplifier category of Texas Instruments.

Can I make use of daisy chain connection configuration to connect multiple INA229 to my Raspberry Pi 4 controller as Rpi has only two functional chip select pins?

Best regards,
William

  • Hello William,

Sorry, but the INA229 does not support daisy chain configuration. You may want to consider the INA228, which is identical to the INA229, but uses I2C communication instead. In general you could use GPIO's for chip selects, but GPIO extenders also may use I2C, so the INA228 may just be easier. (The INA228 can support up to 16 devices on one I2C bus)

    Regards,

    Mitch
