INA188: vs INA821: is it possible to adapt VSON footprint

Team,
INA188 and INA821 seem to be quite close in term of specification:

But their respective VSON-8 package have different dimension INA188 SON-8 (DRJ) 4x4mm vs INA821 SON-8 (DRG) 3x3mm.

-Can the PCB be adapted to enable to have both SON-8 footprint fit on top of each other to enable dual sourcing?
-Any existing examples available?

I have seen for example the below for SOIC-8 to SON-8 PCB adaptation:

    Hi A,

    The SON-8 footprints cannot be fit on top of each other due to the exposed thermal pads. No matter how you try to orient the footprint these thermal pads will cause shorts across the device pins. If you want to stack two footprints on top of each other for dual sourcing you will need one much larger package size without a thermal pad, such as the SOIC-8 examples in the links you provided.

    If you want to modify your layout to accommodate dual sourcing you have a few options. You may layout the two SON packages next to each other and only populate one amplifier, something like this...

    But if board space is a concern, you maybe able to achieve a smaller solution using one SON package footprint that is fitted inside of the larger SOIC package.

    Shown below is the INA188 SON package fitted inside the INA821 SOIC package.

    It seems that the simplest layout solution (less vias) is the smaller INA821 SON package footprint fitted inside the INA188 SOIC package, shown below.

    Please note that all the layouts shown in this post are not complete and are meant as examples for the spacing requirements, not as proven reference layouts for your design.
