LM139AQML-SP: Max output sink current for 5962R9673802VDA

Part Number: LM139AQML-SP

Dear All,

in the datasheet of LM139AQML-SP is stated that the maximum output sink current is 20mA, but only for SMD 5962–8773901.

What is the maximum output sink current for 5962R9673802VDA?

Thanks in advacnce for your reply.

Best Regards.

Stefano

  • Hello Stefano,

     5962R9673802VDA = LM139AWRLQMLV (LM139AQML-SP)

    The maximum sink current is limited by the short circuit current limit, which tends to be around 12-16mA (depending on temp and saturation voltage) for this family. The sharp upwards inflection in the graph is the current limit ("out of saturation" aka current limiting). Nearing 20mA would be at higher supply voltages and at cold (and a dead-short to the supply which could cause eventual thermal runaway and destruction).

    We recommend sinking less than 10mA, otherwise you get close to the current limit and the VOL can vary.
