OPA548: Increase current source

Part Number: OPA548
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPA547

Hello,

I am a novice in these matters, so I apologize for any incomplete or incorrect explanations.
I have a 10 V-20 mA signal generator. I can adjust the frequency and amplitude.
I want to drive the BLDC motor the way I want. Of course the current is insufficient.
Operating voltage range: 12-24V
Idle current: 55mA
Power 7.5W

I have examined many amplifier circuits but I could not find a circuit I wanted.
Will the OPA548 integration help me?
If you have a different suggestion, could you share it with me?

Thank you in advance.

  • Hello Mustafa,

We need a bit more information about your BLDC motor drive requirements before we can make the best power op amp recommendation.

    • You mention an idle current of 55 mA, but what is the peak current requirement of the BLDC motor?
    • What power supply do you have available to power the op amp? Do you plan to use a single supply, or a dual supply?

If the peak output current required doesn't exceed about 0.75 Amperes the OPA547 may be a good candidate for the BLDC motor driver. See FIGURE 11, Motor Drive Circuit, in the datasheet for an example circuit.
