THS6214: Receiver for THS6214 or THS6204

Thank you for your patience; I have been traveling for TI.

I have some follow-up questions so I best advise you:

1. What communications type are you using the line drivers for?  DSL, PLC, etc?

2. What is your receive path?  Would the 'receiver' pass the signal into an ADC, ASIC, or other?

3. If an amplifier is needed, TI HSAMPs recommends our voltage feedback op-amps or fully-differential amplifiers (FDAs).  Not all PLC and DSL systems require a dedicated receiver IC, could you share additional information about your application and the rest of your proposed circuit?

4. What specifications or requirements from your design led you to select either the THS6214 or THS6204?  I can best advise you on TI part selection once you shared additional information about your performance care-abouts and requirements.

eventually, the THS6002, THS7002 or THS6062 will do. Or any other suited HF-OPAmp.

For new designs, I recommend the following for line drivers over the THS6214 of THS6204:

DSL: THS6301 & THS6302 

PLC: THS6222

If you are implementing a different configuration, please respond with details.  The THS6214 and THS6204 are not the current recommendations of HSAMPs product line for DSL.  If you are looking to support an older legacy design; you can use these ICs if absolutely needed.   However, would still recommend looking into the newer THS6301/2 parts for current or future designs, or a rework/update to an older design.

As for receivers, Kai's recommendations are true.  However, I would recommend newer ICs for your design.  My receiver recommendations are as follows: 

1. Check if your signal path even needs a receiver

2. Check TI FDAs if they suit your needs; THS4541, THS4551, THS4561, etc

3.. Check TI High Speed Voltage Feedback Op-Amps: OPA810, OPA863, OPA2863 (dual), OPA2863A,
