Hi,

Is this statement true:

Yes, TI does allow the same product having different mold numbers that are used by the product assembler.  TI doesn't dictate the mold numbers that are used by the assembler.

Once the devices are completely assembled and tested, then TI dictates and controls the topside marking whose information is indicated on the mfg label.

    This statement is NOT quite true. Even though it may be true that due to different assembly sites same product may have different molds (especially for different number of channels requiring different packages), TI experiments with different molds and decides what molding compound MUST be used for assembly of a given product.
