THS4131: Is the Differential Input voltage really just +/-1.5 volts.

I was hoping to replace a THS4151 with a quieter, and lower power amplifier. The ths4131 seemed perfect until I saw the limit on the differential Input voltage. The THS 4141 and ths4151 have a maximum differential input voltage of +/-6 volts. what is the consequences of exceeding the 1.5 volt limit on the THS4131. Can you suggest an alternate part for the THS4151.

    You are looking at the ABSMax tables for fault conditions, normally the input diff V is 0 driven by the feedback loop. 

    The 1.5V sounds like protection diodes across the inputs of the THS4131, that is just what the diff input Vid will be limited to if very hard overdriven. The 6V in the THS4151 sounds like the input stage Vebo + a diode, don't want to do that anyway.
