LM324-N: Difference between LM324AN/NOPB and LM324N/NOPB

Part Number: LM324-N
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM324A, LM324, , LM324B

Hello Team,

Customer would like to use LM324AN/NOPB or LM324N/NOPB for their new project.

Could you give us your comment on the following 2 questions?

1. Could you let us know the differences between LM324AN/NOPB and LM324N/NOPB?

2. Do you have alternatives for LM324AN/NOPB and LM324N/NOPB? I think those devices are very old so I would like to propose alternative device if you have newer or recommended device.

Best regards,

  • The -A version has better electrical characteristics (lower offset, lower bias/offset current); compare sections 6.5 and 6.6 of the datasheet.

The LM324-N was acquired from National Semiconductor. TI's LM324/LM324A is the same, but cheaper.

The newer LM324B is not availabe in the PDIP package. Is this package really necessary?
