OPA310: TI.COM "Drop-in replacement with upgraded functionality" for TLV341A vs OPA310 in SOT-23 (DBV-6)?

Part Number: OPA310
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV341A

Team,

I have been checking the DBV (SOT-23, 3x3mm) drop-in compatibility between TLV341AIDBV and OPA310SIDBVR but it seems that IN- (1IN-), IN+ (1IN+ ) And OUT (1OUT) are not pinned out the same way.
Only the OPA310S SC70 (2x2.4mm) version does have a comparable pinout as TLV341AIDBV.
Am I misunderstanding the datasheet?
Are we planning a OPA310S DVB variant that will enable true drop-in capability with TLV341AIDBV?

Thanks in advance,

Ant

  • Hi Anthony,

You are correct, In DBV package OPA310SIDBV would not be P2P with TLV341AIDBV.

The most common pinout for a DBV package amplifier is NW oriented ( direction referencing the output pin).

The most common pinout for a DCK package amplifier is SE oriented.

Sometimes we make alternate pinouts for each package, designated often as UDBV or TDCK. Some older devices like the TLV341A do not necessarily follow this standard.

Making this further challenging, TLV341A is a SD device. I am not aware of any modern devices in GPAMPS which would be a P2P swap for TLV341A.

Is the customer using the SD functionality in this application?

I can ask our team if there is any future plan to release alternate pinout DBV packages with SD functionality. If I were to guess, I would not expect there to be a current plan to release the OPA310S in UDBV package.

    Best,

    Jacob
