# TLV3201-Q1: Bidirectional Current Sensing with a window comparator

Part Number: TLV3201-Q1

I am currently refereing to SNOAA40 Application Report.

If my Vcc=5V , And below is my requirement for current threashold.

DESCRIPTION IG1 (A) INA-OUT (V)-> [ Vref+(Amp Gain)(IG1*Shunt Value)] VH, CHB Overcurrent threshold in forward direction 30 2.59 VL, CHB “Recovery threshold” in forward direction 27 2.581 VH, CHA Overcurrent threshold in reverse direction -30 2.41 VL, CHA “Recovery threshold” in reverse direction -27 2.419

Please suggest me the value of R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R6, R7 Resistors.

• Hi Arthika,

Thanks for reaching out. In what step do you need help with? The equations and steps to getting the values of the resistors are shown in the app note.

For example, assuming you choose R2 as 10k, and using your voltage values from the table above, to get R3, you would use the equation below

• With the above equation i could not get the value used in the application note.

Above i have give my circuit requirement and the threashold voltages. could you please suggest the values of the resistors?

• Arthika,

Seems like theres some confusion in the calculations for this app note. If you use the set of equations (shown below), you will get the right values. However because Channel A is inverting, the VH and VL will be swapped in each of its place. I was able to get the R3=804k from here: (3.3/1.419-1)(10000x/(10000+x))= (3.3-1.4421)/(1.4421/10000 - ((3.3-1.4421)/x)) - Wolfram|Alpha (wolframalpha.com). The channel B equations seem to be right. Hopefully that is what was causing the issue in your calcuations for your own requirements.
