INA901-SP: (5962L1821001VXC) No Allegro/Cadence Symbols or PCB Footprints Exist

Part Number: INA901-SP
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: INA901EVM-CVAL,

I am trying to do a very quick turn around on a PCB.  I have not used Cadence since 2005, so I have forgotten most of it.  I can function on a basic level, so I need to be able to get my hands on a schematic symbol (which I may be able to just create without too much issue), but the PCB footprint is not something I wish to deal with.  I do not have enough time for that learning curve.

I know TI has an Evaluation Board (INA901EVM-CVAL) for the INA901-SP (5962L1821001VXC) which has a footprint right on the board.  Could someone at TI make that footprint available to the EE community?  I know that the leads can be lead formed.  I just do not have the time to mess with doing all of this myself from the ground up.  Thank you.

  • Dan,

I am actually the designer of INA901EVM-CVAL, but I did the design in Altium. If I sent an Altium file set of the EVM, would you be able to convert it to Allegro?

  • I am not sure, but it would be worth investigating.  Would you be willing to send it to me or to share it here with the community?  Thank you so much for responding, and for doing it so quickly!

Also, about the Eval Board, are the gerber files something that TI would be willing to share, or is that asking for too much intellectual property?  I may be able to convert those as well and then keep the key layout decisions and work my changes around them.  If I am asking for too much, then I totally understand.

  • Dan,

Sorry, took me a few to dig through my archives. Please find a copy of the design files attached. You will also find a copy of the requested Gerbers in the "Product Outputs" folder. Again, this project is an Altium project, so you'll most likely need to use an import tool for Allegro.

Finally, please be aware TI evaluation modules are meant for the evaluation of the individual part(s) on them and are not intended for direct use in design. Hopefully this gets you the accelerated beginning you are trying to achieve. :)

*THIS FILE SET WAS INCORRECT AND WAS DELETED. SEE BELOW FOR UPDATE*

  • Thank you so much for all of your assistance!  I really appreciate you going out of your way to help out one of your customers.  I found some videos on YouTube for how to convert Altium files to Cadence, and I am sure I will be able to figure it out now.  Thanks!!

  • Dan,

I'm going to update this forum post to correct a mistake! The fileset I originally attached was incorrect, and I plan to delete it from this thread. The true file set can now be found on your latest post here.
