INA2181-Q1: INA2181-Q1 amplification output abnormality

Part Number: INA2181-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: INA240

HI,

When INA2181-Q1 amplifies the current, it is normal when the output voltage is less than 2V, but abnormal when the output voltage is greater than 2V and the input common mode voltage jumps. The test graph is shown in the following figure. The green waveform represents the common mode input voltage, the blue waveform represents the output voltage, and the yellow waveform represents the input current. Please help analyze the reason. Thanks!

The schematic diagram is shown below:

  • Hi,

Under switching common mode voltage, output spikes are expected as shown in this typical graph.

For this type of application, we recommend INA240 or INA241.

Another factor that likely made it worse is the negative common mode voltage transients, with some of them exceeding -1V. Note that the absolute max is only -0.3V.

    Regards, Guang
