OPA182: common mode voltage range

Part Number: OPA182
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPA387, OPA187, OPA186

Hello, My application requires lowest possible offset drift  with + / - 5V Dual Supply. I am checking OPA182 in my design but I see the common mode voltage range is  (V–) – 0.1V   to  (V+) -2.5V.

I interpret it that I cannot have my input voltage greater than 2.5V or less than -2.5V when my +VCC is 5+V & -VEE is -5V. Please can you share if my understanding is correct

Can you share a part having lower or equivalent offset drift  meeting my requirement ? I also checked OPA387 but it does not meet the + / - 5V Dual Supply. requirement.

  • With ±5 V supplies, the OPA182's input common-mode range is from −5.1 V to +2.5 V.

The OPA187 has an offset drift of 1 nV/°C, with VCM up to 3 V.
The rail-to-rail opamp with the lowest offset drift is the OPA186 with 10 nV/°C.

  • Thank you Clemens,

    HI KmB,

Also consider the OPA186, this is a 24-V, low-power, Rail-to-Rail Input and Rail-to-Rail Output Zero drift operational amplifier that will meet your needs:

The input common-mode voltage extends to 0.2V below the negative supply, and 0.2V above the positive supply rails:

Hence, when powered with ±5V supplies,  the permissible common-mode is ±5.2V

The maximum offset is ±10μV, offset drift is ±0.04μV/°C.

    Thank you and Kind Regards,

    Luis
