LMH5401EVM: Redundant capacitors in single voltage configuration

Part Number: LMH5401EVM

Hi

I have just received a few LMH5401EVM and I have to make it work in single voltage mode.

The user manual says that V- and gnd should be connected, but is it enough to just place a short at the footprint of RB- or C16? Or is it better to also short C1, C3 and C5, C7?

I would be most comfortable with shorting C1, C3 and C5, C7, to make sure that the ground return path is as short as possible.

Best regards,

  • Hi Ion,

You can use a component space like C16 to connect Vs- and GND, however as this is a return path to ground the larger this ground path is in terms of physical size the better. As for your other question, you can short the capacitor locations you mentioned as well.

    Best Regards,

    Ignacio
