LM6142: LM6142BIMX/NOPB Recognition of quality issues

Part Number: LM6142

Mouser purchased operational amplifier LM6142BIMX/NOPB used in my company's digital mining board put most of the resulting product linearity failure, replacement of other platforms purchased the same type of different batches of op amps to solve the problem.

Moreover the chip silkscreen font is different from other batches and the reverse package is also different.

Use of the environment: room temperature 25 degrees Celsius under the signal generator (KEYSIGHT3350B) connected to the digital acquisition board with the host computer acquisition software to test the linearity.

  • Hello,

    Welcome to E2E!

Could you help to share a schematic or what your input and output conditions of the op amp are?

Do you also have the TI reel label for the two batches you are comparing?

    Regards,
    Ashley

  • The input condition is amplitude pulse signal, and the output condition is followed by ADC.

We have the label bag of mouser. And all the chips of other batches have been used and the labels have been thrown away.

  • Hello,

Please help to clarify the following questions:

    • What is the input signal amplitude (voltage) and frequency?
    • Has the op amp been verified to be failing outside of the application?
    • How many total failures are there versus known good units?
    • Please clarify what the test report values are testing. Is this a system-level test or amplifier-level?
    • Where were the "other batches" purchased from?

    Thank you!
    Best Regards,
    Ashley

  • Is it normal for silk screen and reverse packaging to be different ?

  • Hello,

I will need to inquire about the silkscreen question internally first. In the meantime, could you please answer my questions in the previous thread reply?

    Thank you!
    Best Regards,
    Ashley

  • Hello,

I am following up on this thread to see if your issue has been resolved or if you have additional comments as mentioned in my previous thread. In the meantime I will mark this thread as "TI Thinks Resolved" but please feel free to respond if you have additional questions.

    Thank you!
