Hello TI Team,

I am looking for LMP8645 replacement. I want following features in new High side current sense IC.

1) supply Voltage 5V

2) Rail to Rail output

3) Vsense,min =500mV (LMP8645 has 600mV input sense voltage)

4) Input common voltage similar to LMP8645 (42V)

Please can you suggest any suitable part from TI's portfolio?

To narrow down this list further, do you have any clarifications for what device gains you want? Or are you exclusively looking for adjustable-gain parts?

Most of our parts are rail-to-rail parts but vary in how close to the rail they will go. Do you have any requirements for the swing to supply or swing to ground specifications?

Thanks for quick reply.

I missed Gain factor, adjustable gain setting is preferable.

For Rail to Rail requirement, max 100mV with respect to supply and Ground is acceptable.

Hello Parasd,

The only device that meets these requirements is the LMP860x. This part has a fixed gain, but has an exposed node that can be used to set the gain of the device. The page for the LMP8601 (the 20 V/V variant) is linked here: https://www.ti.com/product/LMP8601 and the datasheet is the same for all 3 gain variants.

Our other devices with adjustable gain rely on generating a current across a gain-setting resistor and this will limit the output voltage because of the circuitry used to generate the currents, so our adjustable gain sensors will not be rail-to-rail devices.

Most of our fixed gain devices will go rail-to-rail in the typical case, but the maximum specification for the high voltage swing is 150-200mV of the supply voltage, so the devices could fall short of your specification.
