THS4522: Spice (.lib) model not working as expected

Part Number: THS4522
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: THS4521, THS4551

Hi,

I am trying to simulate a new design using LTSpice.

I downloaded the Spice model as a zip (sbom343e.zip) file from the TI website.

I am using ths4521.lib from the zip file.

Vdd = 3.3V

Leaving VOCM pin unconnected, the output voltage sits at 2.49V but shoudl sit a 1.65V as per Datasheet.

Connecting VOCM causes the simulation to not solve.

There is also no amplification showing when I apply  a signal to the inputs and gain set to 47 (using RF= 470k and RG=10k)

Is there a better working model for this part perhaps or a workaround?ths4521_a.lib

  • I have since found a another chip THS 4551. I got that .lib model and it does behave correctly as far as the bias being 1/2 Vcc.

    However, it cannot amplify either. As soon as I feed a differential signal of just 10mV into the amp circuit, it will not converge and has to be stopped after a while.

  • Hello Bernt,

      Unfortunately, TI can not debug on LTSpice due to licensing conflicts. However, I can look over your schematic to determine if there is any issues or if it is a conversion problem. Would you be able to share a snippet of your circuit for both THS4521 and THS4551?

    Thank you,

    Sima
