THS3095: The frequency response and the recommended RISO value when the load capacitance is 1200pF

Part Number: THS3095

Tool/software:

Dear Specialists,

My customer would like to know Riso value at load capacitance 1200pF.

I would be grateful if you could advise.

---

Figure 7-7 on page 11 shows Capacitive Load Frequency Response, and Figure 7-8 shows Recommended RISO vs Capacitive Load.

Both have a load capacitance of only up to 100pF.

I would like to know the frequency response and the recommended RISO value when the load capacitance is 1200pF.

I am considering using it to drive a Power MOSFET at 13.56MHz.

I appreciate your great help in advance.

Best regards,

Shinichi

  • Hi Shinichi,

Typically all the frequency responses we capture during characterization are on the datasheet therefore, we likely do not have any data going up to 1200pF. Following the trend we see as Cload increases, the Riso value will be in the single digit range when using such a high Cload. However this is not a guarantee and will have to be tested as other factors like loading will affect the performance of the system. In general, the way we often collect Riso vs Cload data is by testing the value and adjusting accordingly. That is the same approach that should be taken when using a heavy Cload like this one.

  • Hi Ignacio,

    Thank you for your reply.

I understand there is no data for 1200pF capacitance.

I will ask the customer to check with actual measurements.

In addition, I will ask them to check the phase margin with a simulation.

I appreciate your great help and cooperation.

    Best regards,

    Shinichi
