INA225: Internal clamping diode

Part Number: INA225

Tool/software:

Hi,

Does the INA have internal clamping Diodes at all input and output pins?

Are they strapped to Vs and GND?

  • The absolute maximum ratings allow voltages above the supply for the two analog inputs, so there are no positive diodes. But the other pins have them.

All pins have diodes from ground.

  • Hi Carsten,

    Thank you for your question.
As Clemens mentioned, the analog input pins allow voltages above the supply, so they don't have diodes. A rule of thumb is to check if the absolute maximum ratings allow voltages higher than supply, if yes, then that pin does not have a clamping diode to supply. All the pins to ground have internal diodes.
