OPA462: OPA462

Part Number: OPA462
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPA810

Tool/software:

Hello,

I've designed a small high voltage bridge based on the LTC6090, somehow OK...and wanted to try out the OPA462.

I've swapped the ICs, but it is not working as expected, i.e. the voltage gain at the output of IC6 is wrong ? amongst other issues.

The only think I can see is maybe the choice of my resistors values are too low.

Can you, please, review the schematic to see if there is something flagrant as why this does work with the LTC and not the OPA ?

Thank you.

  • Hi Georges,

I do not see the obvious issues with the circuit yet, see the simulation. My guess is that the input bias voltage may be different between two op amps, and OPA462s are not operating in linear region somehow.

I need to know the following:

    1. Vht or high voltage (Vee = -12V

    2. input voltage swing and frequency

    3. output voltage swing

    4. Required driving current

Please take a look the simulation. I assume that I transfer the circuit properly. I assume that OPA810 is providing the correct input signal, and the input circuit is shared between two op amps.

The OPA462's logic pins may have issues. Please verify the logic pin status, see the image below.

Please provide me with the above information. I will check it out.

    Best,

    Raymond

  • Hello Raymond,

Thank you for your quick reply, and YES you are right, I've lifted the pin the pin 8 (E/D) and back as it should.

    Kind regards

    Georges
