Hello,

I am planning on using THS2630 for my ADC application circuit. My ADC on the board accepts 2.5Vpp. Input signal to the board is 20Vpp. I am thinking of using THS2630 to convert 20Vpp signal to 2.5Vpp @3MHz just before ADC.

On datasheet of THS2630, I do not see any example of attenuation of input signal. As for TINA simulation, yes it is possible. I just want to make sure.

Also, Spice file for THS2630 is not working at all. Simulation is so slow that it takes 10 mins for 2ns of simulation time. There is only THS2630 on simulation.

Sure Alper, that should work fine - the section on designing attenuators in the THS4541 datasheet applies here as well.

Hello Alper,

Michael already has you covered here, but I wanted to second his answer. You can use the THS2630 as an attenuator, and our other FDA devices (such as THS4541) have good documentation on designing attenuators.

If you could share your TINA circuit, I can take a look and debug the simulation. I imagine there is a parameter being applied incorrectly, I agree it should not take 10mins to simulate. Perhaps we need to add passive components to help with simulator convergence.

Hi Alec,

Issue with simulation is not that of TINA but SPICE. Simulation of THS2630 works fine with TINA. Thank you for your comment.
