LM25011: surge test - input voltage slightly higher than specified

Part Number: LM25011

Tool/software:

We have a question about the LM25011.
During the surge test, we noticed that the input of the switching controller has a slightly higher voltage than that specified in the Absolute Maximum Ratings.
We measured a voltage of approx. 49.6 V during the pulse

The question now is whether the specification from the data sheet describes a continuous load and we can exceed this via the pulse, or whether we must definitely not exceed this value?
The pulse shape and the values can be found below.

  • Hello

It looks like the voltage spike is going about 4V above abs max.

From our point of view that is a violation of the specification.

I think you will need to adjust your clamping circuit so that the spike is reduced below abs max.

    Thanks
