LMH6554LE-EVAL: Interfacing LMH6554LE with ADC12DL2500

Part Number: LMH6554LE-EVAL
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADC12DL2500, LMH6554

Tool/software:

Hi Team,

We are planning to interface LMH6554LE with ADC12DL2500, We are looking into below given parameters to ensure the voltage compatibility but the common mode output levels of LMH6554LE is exceeding the input common mode levels of ADC12DL2500

LMH6554LE : output levels

100

ADC12DL2500 : input levels

could you please clarify the above query? or else which parameters we have to cross check while interfacing both the devices?

  • Hello Sudharson,

The LMH6554LE can operate with a lower output common mode voltage which fits within the ADC12DL2500's common mode voltage range.  Using the common mode voltage output of the ADC as the input to the VOCM (output common mode voltage) pin will align the two devices.  The FDA will set its own common mode voltage by using the ADC's common mode voltage.

As the ADC12DL2500 does not have a common mode voltage output pin, the VOCM pin on the LMH6554 should be tied to the recommended input common mode voltage of the ADC.  For this device that voltage is 0V (GND).

    Best,

    Alec
