OPA392: EMI hardening vs filtering

Hi TI,

What is the difference between EMI hardening and EMI filtering?
Some opamps (e.g. OPA378) are labeled as 'EMI hardened' while some (e.g. OPA392) are just(?) 'EMI filtered'.

There is no difference between the terms - they both utilize a series input resistor interacting with the input common-mode capacitance to set the EMI LP cut-off frequency.

Thanks, Marek. The reason why I asked was because I noticed that when I was searching for 'EMI hardened' opamps using TI search tool OPA392 and 397 did not show up. That made me wondering if there was any technical reason for that.

Yes, it all depends whether they call it "EMI Hardened" in the Features. However, it may be helpful for you to know that for the past 20 years to the best of my knowledge all TI op amps include EMI filter on the input pins.
