LMV393-N: What happens when Input voltage goes above Vcm?

Part Number: LMV393-N

Tool/software:

Hi, what is the behavior with the input pin when the Vcm goes above 2V?

It will clamp the voltage of the input will be still high impedance?

LMV393MM-NOPB

  • The inputs are the bases of PNP transistors (see section 7.2), so no current will flow. The absolute maximum ratings allows voltages up to 5.5 V.

  • Hi Fabio,

Since the Abs Max states an absolute 5.5V, there is not a upper ESD clamp.

So it should remain high impedance up until 5.5V, then you get into the range where there could be a breakdown at a higher voltage (No, we do not comment on that breakdown voltage as it is way out of DS specs).

At about 800mV below V+, the bias current will start to drop into the pA's as the input stage gets cut off.
