BOOSTXL-3PHGANINV: BOOSTXL-3PHGANINV and LAUNCHXL-F28069M

I ordered two Launchpads  BOOSTXL-3PHGANINV and LAUNCHXL-F28069M. However, when I connected the two boards, a macro layout error caused a short circuit, damaging both boards. The issue is that the pin above is for the motor phase, while the pin below is 3.3V and GND and they are very close each other when i insert the  BOOSTXL-3PHGANINV on the LAUNCHXL-F28069M.

Now, on both the BOOSTXL-3PHGANINV and LAUNCHXL-F28069M, there is a short circuit, as the power supply goes into protection mode. Everything was fine up until the motor startup, but as soon as I started the motor from CCS, I saw smoke and smelled burning on both boards. Do you think I could be sent new boards as a replacement for this issue?

    Thank you for your response.

    I was directed here by Texas Instruments Customer Support, who mentioned that the E2E forum is the right place to address this issue. This is not just a sales-related request but a design-related problem. The stack-up of the two boards creates a short circuit between a motor phase pin and the 3.3V/GND pins, which caused irreversible damage to my boards during normal operation.

    Could you please help escalate this issue to the appropriate team, or guide me to the right contact for resolving this matter? I would appreciate your assistance in expediting the replacement or refund process, as this design flaw has delayed my work significantly.

    Hi Marco,

    Please bear with me as I look into how the refund process works.

    Here is a link I found at TI store. I suspect you would need to log into your account and find these orders. There might be a refund button or something, which you can click to request a refund.
