PGA281: Bias supply

Part Number: PGA281
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PGA849

Tool/software:

Hi expert,

My customer is evaluating PGA281 and want to know if the VOCM and VO-N can connect to 0V (GND)?

Best Regards,

Ryker

  • Hello Ryker,

Yes the VOCM and VO-N can be connected to 0V (GND) as long as the datasheet is not violated.

Here are the conditions for VOCM:

For ideal output conditions I recommend to make VOCM mid supply between VSOP & VSON.

Since VO-N will be connected to ground, the differential output will be turn single-ended.

Here is an example from the datasheet:

What power supplies and expected input voltage/frequencies does the customer have? If single-ended output is needed, the newly released PGA849 might be a better fit (depending on gain needs).

    All the best,
    Carolina
