LMP7721: heating of opamp encountered when providing power

Part Number: LMP7721

Tool/software:

Hi,

I was facing the issue of the opamps heating when i just connect the power to it.I tried to test the functionality using it in non inverting mode and it did not show results.

Also tried this with mutliple ics, the heating persists, cannot figure out what the issue is.

Is there any other way to test the functionality.

I am providing around 5.7 volts as power.(+-2.85 volts to each power pin)

Any help would be appreciated

  • Hello Adit, welcome to the TI e2e forums.

Do you have the polarity correct and applying to correct pins? LMP7211 has an unusual pinout. Be sure to protect devices from ESD damage.

Try starting with a lower voltage and limit current to 10mA ; if you can't set current limit, add 100 ohms in series with VCC and VEE.

  • Adding to Ron's comments, if the problem persists after confirming proper pinout, please show your circuit schematic including any output loading.
