AMC3330: DCDC_OUT = 5V / / Need 5V auxiliary on the hi side

Hi Team,

I need your help on the following request:

We need to measure a current through a shunt resistor in an isolated region of the circuit and we have adopted your AMC1100 that in the hi side require 8mA of supply current at 5V that we provide through an isolated dc/dc converter that we also use for a total of about 2mA for auxiliary functions (pull up resistors etc).

In order to eliminate our dc/dc converter, we saw that your AMC3330 has an isolated regulator already integrated, however it exposes a voltage of 3.5V hi side.

With a quick search on TI I did not find a version capable of providing 5V auxiliary on the hi side, can you confirm? Can you suggest something that suits our case?

    Hi Fabio,

    This is correct, additionally the internal DC/DC is limited to about 4mA of additional current. Unfortunately I do not believe we have any device immediately available to fulfill this request. The customer could instead use a standalone isolated DC/DC converter to provide this power or bootstrap power supply from a gate driver if available.
