LM293A: about the mean of silk mark and help check SHC

Two questions

  1. I would like to know the meaning of different silk mark. For example (LM293A  TIS2K ASTZ / LM293A T14AM AGQE),The meaning of each bit of the highlighted section
  2. Help confirm whether the schematic diagram of the following design is unreasonable.
  • 1. "TI" is the TI logo. The meaning of the other letters is not public to prevent counterfeiting.

    2. Looks OK. But note that the LM393LV would be cheaper with better electrical characteristics.

    In addition, please note that the LM293A has an open-drain output. This means that the output can be Hi-Z or low; it's not capable of sourcing any current. To assert output high, a pull-up resistor to a logic high voltage level is required.

    So, Do I need to add pull-up to this circuit?

  • As far as I can see, this circuit is designed so that the comparator's output pulls the BOOST_COMP signal low. (Otherwise, the diodes would not make sense.) So a pull-up resistor (or something equivalent) is probably somewhere else in the circuit.

    But how the BOOST_COMP signals works is a question to be answered by the circuit designer. If the BOOST_COMP signal needs to be driven high, then you must remove the diodes, and add a pull-up resistor or use a comparator with push/pull output like the TLV7011.
