PGA849型:Logic input protection for PGA849

Part Number: PGA849

Tool/software:

  • An English translation is provided.

The PGA849 is driven by ±15V, and I believe the logic section is also driven by 15V. If I use a 5V logic input, is there a possibility that 15V will flow back and damage the previous IC? Would it be better to add protection or boost the 5V logic signal to 15V before inputting it?

  • Hello Sekine-san,

5V logic input is fine - no additional protection needed.

VIH Digital input logic high is VDGND + 1.8 to VS+ => High is between 1.8V to 15V.

Do you expect to have a large transients on V+? The abs max states the digital inputs (A2:A0) can be up to (VS+) + 0.5 => 15.5V.

    All the best,
    Carolina
