OPA827: OPA827AIDGKT Termination Finish Issue

Part Number: OPA827

Tool/software:

Would someone be able to help me determine the current and past available termination finishes under MPN OPA827AIDGKT?  I need to know if this part was ever offered in matte tin to determine if there is a risk of being non-compliant to our requirements. If I order old stock from distributors how will I know what the finish is if there's is multiple possibilities.

Additionally TI PCN 20211212000.1 adds to the ambiguity and makes it seem like OPA827AIDGKT can be delivered with matte tin despite matte tin not being seen in the qualification documents for this part on the TI website.

Please let me know your thoughts on this. Thank you!

  • Hello Saxon,

OPA827AIDGKT has only used NiPdAu or NiPdAuAg leadframe finishes. To determine what finish your shipment contains, you can look at the shipment label. You should see a "E/4G4" on the box, which indicates the device has a NipDAu finish. If there is a "E3/G3", then the device has a Matte Sn finish (see below example).

The PCN 20211212000.1 contains multiple devices, some of which have a Matte Sn finish. However, this does not apply to the OPA827AIDGKT, as it does not use this leadframe.

Please let me know if you have further questions.

    Thank you,
    Carrie

  • Just to make sure, the OPA827AIDGKT can only be finished in either NiPdAu or NiPdAuAg? There is no chance the label can say G3?

  • Hi Saxon,

Yes, that is correct. Those are the 2 leadframes that have been used for this package. This can also be found when looking at the part details of the OPA827AIDGKT, found here.

    Thank you,
    Carrie

  • Hi Carrie, what is the purpose of "Call TI" in the lead finish/ball material of these parts on the main OPA827 page?

  • Hi Michael,

It is possible to receive either of the leadframe options. If you are wanting to know which leadframe you have received, then you can call TI to get confirmation.
