LMH6505:The expected gain is not being achieved

Part Number: LMH6505
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMH730066

Tool/software:

Hi, Team.

We have received the following inquiry from one of our customers:

They were conducting operational checks on the LMH6505 and encountered an issue where the maximum gain could not be achieved when using the device in a single-ended configuration.
The circuit used is almost identical to the one shown in the datasheet, and they are using the LMH730066 evaluation board.

When operating the circuit with a ±5V power supply, they were able to achieve nearly 20 dB of gain. However, when switching to a single +5V power supply, the gain was limited to approximately 12 dB.
Could you please advise on possible causes of this issue and any recommended countermeasures?

Best Regards.

  • Hi Okutsu,

    Apology for delay in response

Can you please tell what the input are you giving at the VG pin?

There is a section in datasheet (page 14) which specifies the biasing condition for single supply operation. Can you please ensure all those are met.

    Regards

    Anant
