OPA855: OPA855 - Trouble running Pspice simulations

Part Number: OPA855

Hello,

I’m having trouble using the OPA855 PSpice model downloaded from the Texas Instruments website.

Even with very basic test circuits (for example a simple non-inverting amplifier), the simulation results don’t make sense. In some cases, I get an output voltage of ~8 V, while the amplifier is powered from a single +5 V supply (VCC = 5 V, VEE = 0 V).

I’ve checked that:

  • the subcircuit is instantiated correctly (OPA855 IN+ IN- OUT VCC VEE),

  • the supply voltages follow the datasheet,

  • the inputs are kept within a reasonable range.

Still, the output clearly exceeds the supply rails.

Is there a recommended or validated PSpice test schematic for the OPA855, or any special considerations when using this model in PSpice?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Best regards,

Romain.

  • Hello Romain,

Thank you for the details. If you are using PSpice for TI, would you be able to try out placing the symbol directly from the library:

If using a different version of PSpice, can you try the attached PSpice project below, and let me know if that works on your end.

    Thank you,
