TLV3401 Input Characteristics at Vcc=0V

Hi,

Just a quick double check question, is the input voltage range listed (0V<Vin<Vcc+5V) int he datasheet still valid (and will not cause leakage) when Vcc=0V?

Lucas,

I'm confident that this condition will not damage the device. This is the intent of the "absolute maximum" ratings. I don't think that the input bias current will be normal, if that's what you mean. Can you be specific as to your concerns? What type of "leakage" is your concern?

Hi Bruce,

what we are specifically looking for is that the input not go low impedance in this condition, and that there will will be no input leekage. There is a battery voltage connected to the input, and while the system is in storage (on a shelf), Vcc =0V, and we do not want the battery discharging through the TLV3401.

I have my doubts about this. I think you'll have substantial leakage current.

Check out this supervisor circuit... TPS3839. This device operates on 150nA and could probably be kept active instead of powering down.
