LM2901D Supply rail limits

What are the supply voltage limits on LM2901D ? The datasheet says it is tested for 30V. The parameter table on TI website says Max Vs as 30V. But, I read some where else as 36v or +/- 18V.

I am interested to know, whether I can use it with dual +/- 15V supply rails allowing 10% tolerance on both supply rails ?

You are correct; LM2901D is tested at 30V, and is usable to 36V.
+/-16.5V peak is acceptable usage.

Why is this device is tested up to 30V instead of 36V ? (As other comparators)

On the website as it says 30V as max, How confidently can I go with +/-16.5V ?

The 30V, 36V data sheet spread dates back to the 1970's. I suspect the spread was to allow for a up to 20% surge/tolerance in a 30V VCC. The 32V tested orderable option was created much later as cost adder for cases where counting on design margin is not an acceptable risk. I have tested breakdown voltage on samples in the past, I cannot located the data, but I remember a lot of margin. Definitely >45V.
