Measuring Shunt current from 10 mV to 50 mV?

Hi:

I would like to measure 10mV to 50 mV shunt at 60VDC max resulting in linearly proportional output voltage from 0 to 5VDC in a telecom battery plant application.

Could you suggest a suitable TI part?

We do have some current shunt monitors that go up to 80V common mode. Do you mean 10mA-50mA? What size shunt resistor do you intend to use? I can make a better recommendation with this information. Do you need a digital interface or an analog output?

Hi Jason:

We are using .08 ohm shunt resistor. It is a common mode voltage of 48VDC, with Vsense= 10mV to 50 mV drop across the shunt.

I am looking for analog output voltage of either 0 to 5VDC or 0 to 10 VDC

Ifty,

For a common mode of 48V, you'll find our 60V-80V common mode capable products good. Since you need 0 to 5V or 10V output, you'll need a gain of 100 or 200 with a 50mV max input. Since you need to measure down to 10mV, you won't want to use our INA202, INA205, INA208, INA195, or INA198 as they don't really work below 20mV. I would suggest the INA286 or INA283 or maybe the INA169.
