TL3474 - the diode for Clamp

Hi all,

Would you mind if we ask TL3474?

We contributed the question about the internal diode for voltage clamp as following;

We would like to confirm followings again;
-TL3474 input pins have diodes to VCC-/GND supply.
-Therefore, the diode should not be needed.

Is our recognition correct?

Input diode usage depends on the application.
What is the expected input input voltage range?

Thank you for your reply.

TL3474 connects to shunt resistor for current sensing.
So, by current swtiching, surge voltage occurs rapidly.
The value will be ±1V.
(Vcc=12V, Vcc-=0, single supply)
We guess that in case of Vin=-1V, it is reguired inputs diodes.
Is our recognition correct?

Hirotaka-san,

Yes, diodes are recommended. I also suggest low pass filter to limit transients so that TL3474 responds to current level and not transient noise on the switching edges.
