LMH6882_EVAL_GUI

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMH6882

1)The product ID does not show 33.

 2) Ch A/Ch B Synchronous switch is not functional -- regardless of switch position Attenuation A and B are independent. Is there a bug n the GUI? or the device??

  • Hi Ruben,

Does the GUI change the gain properly? If the product ID is not showing the correct number it is likely that the GUI is not communicating with the eval board correctly. You can change the gain manually on the eval board and if you have a micro controller you can connect it to the evm and use your own software to control the LMH6882. The GUI was developed quite a while ago and has not been updated for newer computers and drivers.

  • The GUI does change the gain ch A and Ch B properly; however not the desired synchronous way. This should indicate that GUI is kind of communicating with the board. Is there any other way such as setting register to force the synchronous gain adjustment?

  • Hello Ruben,

The SPI interface should be all or nothing.  If it works for setting gain then it should work for changing the synchronous modes as well.  Are you sure that the EVM is configured properly for SPI control?  The user's manual shows what the switching settings need to be for SPI control.  For SPI mode switch positions 4,5,6,7 need to be in the Off or Open position, otherwise the SPI signals are shorted.  Also switch position #3 needs to be in the Off or open state for SPI mode.
